Women form nearly half of our population, yet many continue to face inequality at home and in society. Despite reservations in local politics, women still struggle to access basic resources like education, healthcare, and nutrition. At SEDT, we believe in “Development through Women.” Our goal is to organize, empower, and make women self-reliant while nurturing leadership qualities among them. With the support of NABARD, we are working to change this situation.
In many rural areas, women are still denied the freedom of speech, education, and choice. They are often seen only as homemakers or laborers, even though they form the backbone of agriculture. Without income or recognition, their voices go unheard. We aim to change that by giving them the tools, confidence, and opportunities they deserve.
To create real change, we have formed 1,000+ Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and support income-generation activities that enable women to earn and become financially independent. We have also launched a women-led farmers’ company – Sakhi Samruddhi Farmer Producer Company, which promotes group farming and will soon market its produce across cities.
In every village, we have identified groups of 40–50 girls to mentor and support, helping them grow into confident, empowered women. Through training, collective farming, water management, diversification, and the use of technology, we are building a sustainable model that transforms lives and ensures women play an equal role in shaping their communities’ future.

We work closely with communities to build their skills and confidence. Together, we have organized training sessions, set up demonstration farms, created supply chains, and held exhibitions and workshops to share successful practices. All this has been achieved with limited resources but strong commitment from our team and partners. We truly believe that with the right support, the lives of people in this region can be transformed.
We are helping farmers and communities grow stronger through training, collective farming, water conservation, crop diversification, better marketing, and the use of technology. Over time, we have developed a scalable, sustainable model that brings all these efforts together into a single integrated approach improving incomes, promoting self-reliance, and building a better future for rural families.
